About Me:
Gunz 'n' Rozez – The Female Champion Sound
In the beginning there was the garden, and in the garden was a rose – Tasha Rozez to be exact! Well known to the Dancehall industry, Tasha Rozez a.k.a. Gunz n Rozez got her start in the boroughs of Toronto in 2000, and was known as the 'conscious rude girl'. Not willing to be dominated by the men in the industry, Tasha proved that she was one flower who would stand the test of time as she later went on to become the first female Sound Clash Champion.
Her training began with legendary gladiator sounds who inspired her; sounds such as Bass Odyssey, Kilimanjaro, Stone Love, Black Kat and Mighty Crown. While watching those sounds, Tasha honed her skills, and made sure she stayed on the cutting edge of Dancehall by keeping up to date with happenings in Jamaica and the newest music coming out of the studios. Tasha Rozez grew to the point that she now plays with Metro Media and Tony Matterhorn on most major dances locally and internationally.
With a selection style as creative and dexterous as the industry, Tasha has become the top choice for artists such as Bounty Killer, Vybz Kartel, Mad Cobra, Macka Diamond, Fanton Mojah, Tony Curtis, Luckie D, and Ghost to name a few. Her long standing reputation in the industry makes her one of the most followed sounds by colleagues and fans alike, and is also sought after by up and coming DJ's who want a buss!
On the war side, Tasha Rozez is fearless in the Clash arena, and is not afraid to sling dubplates. She is a celebrated veteran who has been at the forefront of Clash culture. Some of her titles and accomplishments include:
2001 - Ottawa 45 Shoot Out Winner
2002 - Female World Clash Champion – Texas
2003 - 3rd Place Fully Loaded Clash – Toronto
2005 - Finalist in Buss Whey – Washington D.C. (competing against Black Kat, Bass Odyssey and 8 other sounds)
2006 – Hand chosen and inducted into the Bounty Killer led Galliance
2007 – Nominated for Top Female DJ at the DJ Stylus Awards
2007 – Performed at Fully Loaded in Jamaica
2007 – Performed a feature collaboration with Wiok on a chune called "Footloose"
2007 – Performed at Pink Panther's (from Black Kat ) 10th Anniversary celebration
